Book Review: The Wanderer by Shawn Kirsten Maravel

Genre: Adult Fiction (Contemporary Romance)
Landon Bradley never stayed on one place for too long. Just before his best friend dies, Landon promises him that he'll pass a message to his family in Oregon. Once he's out of the Army, he wonders if it is finally time to settle down and Oregon sounds like as good of a place as any. On his way there, an accident traps him in Wyoming while his bike gets fixed. When his feelings start to grow for Maxine, the brutally honest woman who repaired his bike, he feels the urge to take off for the open road again. Will Landon finally let himself be loved or will he leave again?

The Wanderer is a fun romance that takes you for a ride on the back of Landon's motorcycle as he travels from town to town with his memories of times past and new adventures of the present. He's lived most of his life as a playboy. Just when the girl he may be dating at the time starts to really have feelings for him, he takes off. This habit is how he lands in the Army to begin with. The Wanderer has two strong main characters, Landon and Max. both characters appear confident , secure, and independent on the outside. As you get to know them, you realize they are just like the rest of us. They want love. Their interactions with one another will have you laughing, crying, and at times you'll want to kick them in the shins.

The patriotism of the author really flows through her writing in The Wanderer. There are moments that will make you even more proud of our soldiers than you already are. This is a wonderful all American romance filled with adventure, belated first loves, and new beginnings.
